A Connecticut native, Richard J. Curtiss grew up spending summers in Chatham. Throughout college, Richard split time between the slopes of Colorado as a member of the University of Colorado Boulder freestyle ski team and working on tuna boats here at the Cape.

He has lived in Aspen, Washington D.C., New York, Newport, and Boston, now making Chatham his full time home. In his photographs, Richard sees his surroundings with a unique eye, capturing color, texture, light, and emotion in impactful images that bring to life all there is to love about this beautiful place.
